Series of Documentaries on Paraguay
In each chapter we discover a place of Paraguay. The director (with camera in hand) and the driver of the program are two Cubans residing in Paraguay. The essence of this documentary is to rediscover common places, cities, towns, fairs, through a look at the little things of everyday life with humour, warmth and dynamism. On these trips, however, people can discover peculiar and unique characters in an incredible scenery. Contact between people and breaking down the boundaries are essential elements which stand out from the documentary. Caribbean rhythm and original music made by young Paraguayan talents (some recorded live) is the beautiful soundtrack not only of this documentary, also of in this country and Latin America in general, where music pumps in this land’s veins.

Tañarandy is a documentary about art and its role within a community, built on the experience of artist Koki Ruiz.
Tañarandy is a place that since the time of conquests is characterized by resistance to oppression and physical and cultural alienation.
Tañarandy portrays the dignity of those who cannot be subject to external circumstances, who speak of hope and of the infinite freedom of humanity’s spirit able to choose and create. Culture here is not a luxury but a fertile land for building a decent life. Ruiz is an artist who finds meaning to his career because he enters his community’s service. His origins and aspirations melt with the history of this area, a region of men and women of peasant origin.
Tañarandy is not just a physical place, it is a symbol of resistance.
